Your votes have helped the Midland Railway - Butterley become Amber Valley's 'Pride of Place'. The recent survey to find the favourite local attraction has placed the Railway top of the list in Amber Valley with 46% of the votes. We also had the second highest number of votes in the whole of the East Midlands. Thank you very much for voting for us.
People's Millions Success
The Midland Railway Butterley was successful in its bid for People's Millions Lottery Funding. This was in no small way due to those of you who voted for our project. The result is that the Trust will receive a grant of £80,000 for the Golden Valley Park project. This will develop the park, construct a new footbridge over the heritage railway line, add new footpaths and fencing, and purchase 4.8 acres of woodland that adjoins the park. Once again, thank you very much for your support. There is a photograph of the presentation in the Highlights 2007 area of the Picture Gallery.
